In a world saturated with information and endless opportunities, it's a daunting task for districts and teachers to prioritize how what to focus on. The Iowa Core has already done the work of developing a reliable sequence of skills and content, yet it doesn't take away the art of quality teaching. There's still freedom for districts and teachers to select the materials and instructional strategies that are most effective for the students sitting in front of them while ensuring that all Iowa students have equal access to a quality social studies education.
